Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, stir in the sugar and popcorn. Cover, and shake the pot constantly to keep the sugar from burning.
Directions. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the popcorn and sugar. Once the popcorn starts popping, carefully pick the pot up and give it a quick shake every few seconds until the popping slows down, between 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately.
